Cover Reveal Time!

Today’s the day. It’s time to reveal the cover for my contemporary travel romance, The Stars of Scotland, and early viewing for my newsletter and blog subscribers. If you’re one of them, thank you from the bottom of my heart for following my author journey. I truly appreciate your support. You may be wondering how exactly the cover came to be. One part I love about The Wild Rose Press, (TWRP) my publisher, is that they include the author in the creative process. TWRP asked for three elements that were must haves for the cover artist to work with and three books with a similar style/feel, along with a description of the vision of the cover I had in mind. My three elements included:

🌃 Skylines - Los Angeles and the Scottish highlands
👩🏼‍❤️‍💋‍👨🏽 Silhouettes - of my main characters
⭐️ Stars - brilliant, sparkling stars

A few inspiring book covers with a similar style and feel included: Written in the Stars by Alexandria Bellefleur; The Light We Lost by Jill Santopolo; and On a Night of a Thousand Stars by Andrea Yaryura Clark. Incredibly, some themes in these books are also present in mine.

When the cover artist sent her first proof of the cover, she asked my opinion. I was so excited! The initial cover was so close to what I was hoping for, but it was missing the Scottish element. There was simply the LA skyline and nothing referencing Scotland. Scotland is such a huge element in my book that I asked to incorporate something Scottish such as the highland landscape. A few drafts later, she included a tartan to help marry the two aspects of the book, which worked out great, so that I could use landscape images for advertising the cover. The result is a romantic, dreamy cover that I hope you will love as much as I do!

As part of my upcoming cover reveal on Saturday, September 30th, I used Canva to design some images as well as a television-style video, incorporating travel locations, elements, as well as themes from the story and picturesque highland/natural backgrounds. One of my favorite designs is below.

To have a proper cover reveal, you need a community. One of the most wonderful parts about the writer/author community is the supportiveness of our community. I put up a request for social sharing and had more than two dozen authors respond that they’d share my cover on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter to help drum up interest. I am so incredibly grateful! And of course, can’t wait to return the favor.

Thank you so much for following my journey to publish the first book in my Scottish Stars Series, The Stars of Scotland. I can’t wait for you to read it! This story holds a special place in my heart. Stay tuned for ARCs and pre order dates.

Love,

Erica

The Stars of Scotland

A single mom. A Scottish television star. What if a vacation in Scotland changes everything?

Blurb: Following a painful divorce, budding memoirist, Brielle Finlay Hunter, devoted herself to rebuilding her young children’s lives. Knowing the kids are in good hands, she embarks on a surprise birthday adventure to Scotland. When she slams into sexy Scotsman, Bryce Fraser, sparks fire—yet she’s unaware he’s a famous television star.

Fans have fallen for Bryce’s kilt-clad highland warrior, while violating his real-life privacy. Yet, like the raw, untamed realism Scotland offers, he’s keen to find something real. Brie is a breath of spring air, and they launch into a whirlwind romance that neither expected. But fame is never far behind, nor baggage from previous betrayals, and they both must return to their real lives. Will they have the courage to trust in love again…or will they say goodbye forever?

Debut: Summer 2024
